Girl Chat Fundraising Status
Many of you have asked to see how much it costs to operate Girl Chat and how much funding we currently have to meet our obligations. Therefore, we have prepared this page so that you can see where we stand.
Our current operating expenses total C$450 per month (approximately $350 US or €275). This covers our server co-location, hosting and bandwidth costs. In addition, we have occasional expenses such as post office box rental, domain registration costs and server upgrade and maintenance costs.
Below is a graph for each of the next few months, with an indicator showing how much funds have been currently received to meet our monthly costs. It is best to have at least two months of operating expenses covered at any given time. When our funding falls dangerously low, ie, we have money to cover less than a month of expenses, we must take painful decisions about cutting back on our services.
Take a moment to assess our current situation and consider pledging money to keep girl love online. Remember , it takes time for your pledges to reach us once you have sent them. And if you do pledge money to Girl Chat, please be sure to send it to us as soon as possible. We are all relying on it!
All it takes is five dollars a week from each poster to support GC. That $20 a month will go a long way in helping GC and that idea is what began the GC Donation Challenge.
