Hi pedo-ken,

You are entitled to your opinion and I respect it. I must say however, that I totally disagree with you.

First and foremost, Lindsay never claimed to be a leader of anything. The mantle of leadership has fallen on him because he is one of the few who are willing to actually try to make a difference, not just with one small initiative, but with several years of accomplishements and achievements to his credit.

I could try to itemize the many things Lindsay has done for the pedo communities worldwide, but that would take too long and diverge from the purpose of this post. Instead, I will focus on the project he is currently spearheading, The Alice Day Charity Drive. Pedos, be they Girl Lovers or otherwise, will have a difficult time claiming to be any more than what the mainstream currently perceives them to be, without demonstrating their altruistic side. You say, "Besides, if you guys really want to make Lewis and Alice smile, make a little girl smile. Just do it." My response is that most of us do make little girls smile, some of us on a daily basis. Yet this is only one smile, one girl at a time.

Clearly, in many parts of the world, there is very little for girls (or boys) to smile about. Rampant poverty, hunger, lack of adaquate housing, poor education, unsanitary play areas, disease, all add up to a very bleak future, and is all these children have in their lives. It is too easy to make a flippant little comment about "Just doing it" rather than actually trying to help to neediest among them as Lindsay is doing.

I am sorry that you do not wish to take this opportunity to give to those little ones with such great needs, preferring instead to take a hack at someone who is trying his best to make a difference in their lives. It is my hope that you DO do things for kids in need, and my gut tells me that you probably do. However, those who take part in this drive will be doing so in an organized and unselfish manner, with no ulterior motives and no personal contact with the children for whom they offer this little bit of hope. I think the spirits of Charles and Alice, and the love they shared, will smile on this effort.

I often read posts where the author mentions that our first goal should be acceptance of us as human beings, rather than stereotypical monsters and perverts. Lindsay's web site, The Human Face of Pedophilia, has opened more than a few eyes in regards to this. Now, a chance to demonstrate publically, that Girl Lovers are just that, people who LOVE girls, and are very human after all, is being presented to our community.

Whether or not you choose to participate, you should give credit where credit is due, rather than taking pot shots at someone who is doing positive things for our community. Silently helping one or two little girls, as I believe you and others do, is indeed a kind and noble act, but it cannot be considered an act of bravery. Going public, on the other hand, requires someone with the testicular fortitude to have his face and name all over the interent, standing tall with the collected donations of many, and ready to offer tangible assistance to real little girls in need.

"It is one of the most beautiful compensations of this life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself. - Ralph Waldo Emerson"

BTW - We would still like your input for our Alice Day celebration. That of course, was the main purpose of the Girlchat Committee post.
