what do you go through when you realize that you have an attraction to children?

In my case it wasn't an epiphany - it was a gradual realisation that took roughly 14 years.
Age 10 I was admonished by my father after I was accused of "staring" at a 5 year old girl from across the street - the reason I stared was because I thought she was incredibly beautiful...so simple, really.
Age 24 I saw a picture of a little girl in a magazine that took my breath away, and shortly afterwards I finally accepted that my attraction was hard-wired, and permanent.
I still married and raised a family - but throughout I was living a lie, similar to a lot of gay men who marry, I guess.

What is the number one thing you would want people to know about this community?

We want to be trusted, accepted, and tolerated, just like any other minority*

*Maybe not a minority. Some say there are two types of men, those who are attracted to young girls, and those who haven't realised it yet.
