You are not a hebephile if you like girls who are adolescent/pubescent! It only applies to PREFERING them :) Or actually... maybe I shouldn't be so strict about the definition considering it isn't even used in law or classified as a psychological disorder... perhaps it doesn't have specific criteria? I don't even know at this point... but I just figure if people are going to use it alongside pedophilia which does have specific criteria it'd make sense to be similarly less broad in regards to this. It'd be confusing if the one is specific and the other is broad.
But anyway I still think puG>AG for reasons of confusion with 'adult girl' and also, since with someone else I've gone on to look up the differences between adolescent/pubescent labels it'd make sense to also name this after biological criteria if used in association with hebephilia which you would presume would also be named after bioloical crtieria as pedophilia is.
Of course there is also that whole thing about 'hebephilia' and 'ephebophilia' of which I'm still thoroughly confused as to the meanings of both of them. Like, is one broad and the other specific, one gay and the other heterosexual/bisexual/all-inclusive? Or does one refer to the upper range and the other the whole range? Very hard to sort out, Wikipedia hasn't been much of a help in gaining understanding of either terms' implications.
This leads me to think that people who use them are all going to have some variety in what they think it means and what they're using it to describe about themselves or others.
