thank u for this link. i think this is just another attempt to instill fear into parents. the 'dangers' of the internet are greatly exaggerated, but some foolish people seem to believe that children can really be harmed by the internet.

i found this one comment to be interesting, and rather amusing.

I am a mother of a 13 year old girl who is victim of an online predator. You have no idea what you are talking about. I am very involved with my children and monitor the internet usage everyday. She was over her grandmothers house and it took only 5 minutes for this pervert to get to my daughter. Thank god we have good law enforcement in our area and they caught the guy how is 23 and now he is in jail.

i could not understand this. how can someone 'get to' her daughter in five minutes on the internet? did his hand come through the screen and touch her? i think this woman is just making this up.

i would not be surprised if people from perverted justice went around and found news articles of this nature and made comments like this, to scare people. i really think this comment was made by one of those sorry individuals. it does not sound 'real' to me.

hello again girl chat. i have missed my friends here. i am sorry i have been away, i have been so busy in life with all my family. i hope to come by more and see what i have been missing. it looks like many new names have come to this wonderful forum. i hope to get to know our new friends.
