It used to be, back in the day, an old warning towards princesses who were fond of kissing toads for finding their dates and husbands. Apparently, fat toads were not very good dates or husbands, although I am not sure why. Of course, in order to know that, you had to be active at Princess Chat before 1550, when Toad Kissing became illegal in all the Protestant realms and fell out of fashion in the Catholic ones.
