Re: Alpha male or beta male?

Going by Baldur's definition then I've been an omega male pretty much all my adult life except for one moment a few years ago.

I had a brief, casual relationship with a woman. Around that time her ex was still very much part of our social circle and on one occasion he emphatically stated to some people (while I was in earshot) that he had no desire to rock the boat or cause any hassles because "She's Floyd's lady now".

It hit me right there and then that I'd just had an "alpha male" moment and my first thought was "Ah, so this is what it feels like!"
This is the closest thing I've ever had to a proper relationship and its impact was made even greater by the fact that this man was twice my size, rather intimidating in appeareance and probably not the sort of man you'd want to get on the wrong side of.

In spite of all that he was true to his word and we got on really well.

It had never happened before, I doubt it ever will again, but it provided some fascinating insight.
