Compulsory Schooling is the real crime here

The real crime here is not truancy, but forcing minors to attend schools they do not wish to attend.

Thanks to laws that prevent minors from finding work (laws enacted to protect legal adults from competition), these people cannot get a job, and cannot get the work experience and on the job training they need to be successful.

Instead, they are cooped up in institutions whose purpose is to break their spirits and turn them into willing slaves for others.

This latest effort just formalizes what many students already know: that many modern public schools are run as part-time prisons for the young.
