A crime is a crime is a crime. Evil is evil. Doing a terrible thing to an adult is no less an evil act than if it is done to a child--well that's the way I see it anyway.

well, and i can certianly see where you are coming from on that... and i dont nessisarily disagree with it either.

but like i said, there's something that ought to be ingraned in a person that makes then want to preotect and care for children--a feeling different from, or not like the feeling oen would have towards an adult. something about young people makes a crime against them have a greater moral weight, than the same crime against an adult.

it's like the difference between theft, and bank robery ... assult of a child, vs assault of an adult has a different moral weight, imho...

whether or not we see eye to eye with this, i do think you know what i mean, even if you dont agree... which is refreshing, lol.

as to the death penalty, the innocent thing just doesnt get to me as much as it probably should. I've heard that the US has some problems, or has had, but i just hadnt put much thought into that part of it. I connected it to the idea that the governemnt is a representation of the epopel--a creation of theirs, effectivly their moral authority by proxy, and if state kills some one--then so have those people. it may be an odd way to look at it, but it's the way i see it.

i see abortion differently as well. To me, there is no religious part to it--it's an affection for fellow humans, and what i feel is a responcibility to give everyone a chance (and they cant if they were killed before they were born). i think that a 'fetus' is a person, ebcause they have a DNA combonation that is not the mothers (pochoice arguemnts go along the lines of it's the womans body... ) and therefore a unique human being--that is dependant on the mother for a period of time--but no less human, and deserves to live.

as to a question i think you might have asked--do i consider abortion murder, or as bad as, because it robs a person of life.. the potential for a long one ... yes, it is murder. If they dont want the child, it should be given to some one who does. If it was concieved in rape or incest, it should/could be given away.. not killed, never killed, not for those reasons. maybe there are other reasons, i dont know, even disabled children have been given a chance to live--when parents knew before they were born that they would have them. so, where can the line be drawn? i dont know, but i DO know, most cases of abortion are murder. what ought to be the punishment, if any? no clue....
