"Illicit relationships? If the bride and groom emigrated to the United States their relationship would be illicit."
But who in their right minds would want to move to the U.S.A anyway? :))
And of course we all know though that shit stirring stories like this from Britain are just another pretextual and clever way of Muslim bashing and injecting the venom into MAA's, don't we?
Btw, when they mean "illicit" they are meaning it in the Muslim context of fornication rather than age. Islamic sexual culture is completely different from the West. In the West, young people under 16 are treated as though they are uptight Victorian prudes, but when they hit the 'magical age' of 16/18, they are expected to be total libertines to explore every single sexual avenue thinkable (as long of course as it doesn't involve that dreaded "UNDER AGE SEX"). But in Islam it's not like that. Unlike the West, Muslims don't see sex as 'bad' or 'dirty'. They see it positive and healthy inside marriage. Numerical age itself has absolutely no meaning in that culture, and Saudis like to have coitus straight after first blood. Muslims like their daughters to be clean and young and to marry as fresh healthy virgins, rather than being tired fat slappers. There's an Islamic saying: "Don't have coitus with woman too old, for it is a venomous meal. Resist her, even when she tempts you with honey and barley cakes." Many Muslims would consider it an affront to God if a man refused to have sex with his nice young wife.
