I would expect a hot London to be in August, or in England, or probably both, not in a skirt. I guess someone named a girl "London"?? Or is she some relation to Jack? But aside from that,

if you were being humiliated and bossed around... would you run off?

Not "run" but I certainly wouldn't stay around and put up with it, and I'd consider commenting on the jerk's behavior as I left.
