A book that might be of some use...

There is a book called How to Start your Own Country by Erwin S. Strauss which supposedly goes into several different methods of starting your own Micronation and apparently contains some success stories! I have not read the book so I cannot comment on it and I am sure that there are many pitfalls that are specific to the problem of creating an MAA state that the book would not address (but again I have not read it, perhaps one of us should).
