I kind of agree with Dante

You can try to shield your daughters from the issues and consequences of having a paed dad.

You can try to have them as accomplices in whatever is left of your relationship and infatuation with Emma.

Neither is an inherently untenable position.

But they are mutually incompatible. You had to choose.

As it is, seems your daughter forced you to choose with that comment she made...

I for one don't buy that she never had a chance to give her the necklace. But she and God are the only ones who know why she chose not to; and I think you shouldn't ask. She'll tell you someday.
