You think that excessive time spent in analysis of a problem will eventually provide a solution despite evidence to the contrary.

In my opinion, most problems that remain unsolved over time remain that way because:

1. Those fretting over the problem have no real interest in actually seeing the problem solved in the first place, and/or
2. Those fretting over the problem have a fundamentally flawed understanding of the problem that will prevent them from ever solving the problem by anything other than pure luck.
