.....the future of pedophilia and child sexual liberation?

Ok firstly I apologise to those of you who have talked about this over a million times as I expect I'm rehashing an old topic! However I'm new here and it would be nice to hear about your thoughts concerning the future and how people like ourselves will fit into it/be perceived etc.

Do you think there will ever come a time when children will get to have a say in their own sexuality? Will pedophilia ever be accepted as an orientation? (not a mental illness!) What are the motivations of the media when it comes to spreading the belief that all pedophiles are child rapists? Is it just shock tactics? In that case will this portrayal in the media get worse? (can it possibly anyway!) or stay the same?

Recently I have engaged a few people in a debate on pedophilia and surprisingly (to me anyway!) the prevailing viewpoint was that they feel sorry for pedophiles and the way society has turned them into the 'witches' of our time!

Now I would class these people I talked to as the sort not to be taken in by all this media spin and to blindly accept what they are told by the 'powers that be'. Therefore probably in the minority LOL! but this did give me some hope that this idea may be spreading out a bit more.

It will be one thing for our current society ever to accept that attraction to children is an orientation and that the overwhelming majority of peds actually love children and would never do any harm to them, but could our society ever accept that children are sexual beings and that they can actually decide whether thay want something or not? Also, has anyone ever tried putting this point across in a debate on pedophilia? What reactions did you get?

Would be nice to hear your thoughts on this as it's something that we all probably think about from time to time.
