The way I see it, we're just some minor group (no pun intended) looking for our human rights, and I include the kids who are attracted to adults in that group. Freedom and liberty in general, for everyone, has been under attack on so many fronts today that the best comfort I am able to find in it all is the knowledge that there are far larger and stronger groups than us looking for tolerance and acceptance out there who have hit a brick wall. Excuse my crude description, but basically a few rich cocksuckers have conned just enough people to get their way and loot their country while keeping them all preoccupied with distractions like wars and fear of the other people in their own communities, while they rob everyone and institute more unconstitutional laws to keep a stranglehold on their own power.

I suppose feeling like it's pointless to try demanding tolerance in such an atmosphere is exactly the point of why they do it. History is full of instances where the elites begin to feel the people are demanding so much freedom that their own future power over them becomes jeopardized, so they go and fuck everything up until it's chaotic, whereby it becomes easier to manipulate the direction of society to their own benefit once again.

I think society as a whole, the US especially, but the world really, is waiting to see who makes the next move. Are we heading toward even more extreme fascism in the near future? Will it continue slowly and incrementally under people's noses, or will it take over suddenly and dramatically? Or, is the rubber band stretched to its limits already and about to snap back in favor of "the common people" again? I think it's this large scale question which is going to affect all groups of people who are looking for respect and fair treatment. If the rubber band doesn't snap back, then I think we are headed for revolution and world war, at which point it really does become rather pointless to agitate for rights. On the other hand, it becomes easier to sit on the sidelines and snuggle with your special young friend while everyone else is on the battlefield killing each other:)

I believe things are going to change for the better. I feel our worst personal enemy of all, in the US especially, is the mainstream corporate media, which has been turned into the propaganda arm of the elitist push to remove freedoms and keep people feeling helpless, nervous, and feeling like their opinions don't matter unless they agree with what's been going on. It must be dealt with, not just for us, but for the many millions of other people it alienates and/or vilifies as unpatriotic, etc. As my current favorite bumper sticker reads, I'm tired of hearing what rich people think. The media needs not only to change, but to be removed from its elitist owners, and the airwaves need to be given back to the people as guaranteed by the US Constitution. I am adamant that the level of pedo-paranoia is ONLY as high as it has been via the media creating and stoking the fear artificially, as just one of many other boogymen they have created to keep people feeling afraid, helpless, angry, and looking for revenge in various forms. If you removed its influence, you'd not only see the obsession with pedophiles nearly disappear, but you'd also see a range of other unhealthy public obsessions go bye-bye with it. All of it is slowly killing the society, and I think only now are people really starting to see it for what it really was.. a true weapon of mass distraction.

So I wish I had the crystal ball to give you an answer, but I think the next year is going to be one of immense turmoil and change, no matter what direction that change leads toward. It's not up to me to decide, but if it were, I'd encourage child lovers to focus on three things now:

1- Pushing for media reform as I just explained,
2- Pushing for real sex education beginning in kindergarten. I'll refrain from discussing that one until after November:p
3- focusing on bettering our own lives rather than exclusively sitting around complaining on the internet.

That last one includes personal health like working on addictions, depression, weight or social problems, bettering your careers and influence in your community, and (cautiously) networking offline with other child lovers to create a real sense of community. If you want to see what it's like, just look at the gay community. No, the issues they face are not exactly the same, but as a whole they are no slouches. Whatever you may think of them, they have worked hard for many years. They have worked on their personal health, finances, quality of life. They have formed broad networks of community with others. Then they formed organizations intended to protect existing rights and push for more. I hate to sound condescending to anyone who takes this personally, but your life is never going to change and neither is anyone else's, if you sit around getting fat, drinking or doing drugs all the time, and not doing any of the hard work that lay before us. It doesn't matter what sort of problem you may have. There is always something you can do, and something you can do with little to no risk of discovery if that concerns you. And if you don't know what you can do, somebody else does. And if you can't find the energy or motivation to do anything, it likely means you are suffering from depression, obesity, addiction, social problems, lack of exercise, and possibly a good dose of denial that you have the problems you have. You also have to support other people who are trying to better their own lives.

I almost don't want to make any real predictions, because I don't want to jinx what I see taking place which gives me hope. I think many of us feel like there's a transition taking place, so for now we're just rolling with it. Whatever's going on at this place specifically, you can be sure is only being allowed by all of those who care about it. Annabel has been playing in the mud with the bad kids from across town, but we will call her back to get cleaned up soon. The bubble bath needs to be just the right temperature:)
