Back…Again…

Some of you might remember a post a few weeks back when I complained about how my internet had gone out for a week, and how much I missed GC in the time I was gone. Well, it seems that the techs that came to repair my connection the first time didn’t know what they were doing because it went out again shortly after it was “fixed”. Worse, by coincidence there happens to be thousands of people in my area that also lost their connection at approximately the same time. The entire infrastructure had been damaged [EDIT - You may be comfortable with this, but we're not. Besides, you might regret it later] †. I was put way down on a list of people needing repair, and I had to wait two and a half weeks for them to fix the issue. I was able to mooch off of the neighbors wireless internet for that time, but I am too paranoid to access GC through someone else’s router. I know that there is almost no chance that they would pick up on what I was looking at, even if they did find out that I was using their connection, but I will always err on the side of taking too much precaution.

I don’t know how I lived without GC for so long before I started contributing here. You guys are really a huge source of support in my life. There is nowhere else where I can talk about pedophilia and the true beauty I see in LGs. Just reading what you guys write is therapeutic in many ways. In these last few weeks, there have been many times when communicating with likeminded individuals would have been a very welcome relief.

There has not been a lot going on in my life in terms of pedophilia, but I had a couple conversations which were notable.

The first was with a 14-year-old girl with whom I distantly related. She lives about a thousand miles away, so I usually only communicate with her over the internet. We were IMing each other, and she was telling me about her MySpace profile. I remarked that I was surprised that she was allowed to have a MySpace account (her parents are terribly overprotective). She said that she had it set on some ultra-high security mode so that the only people who could see it were the friends that her parents personally invited. Also, she said that there was not really any personal information about her on her profile. That fit much more closely with what I have come to expect from her family. She said that it annoyed her, but she was “glad that she was safe from perverted pedophiles”. A little taken aback, I asked if she had had any problems with pedophiles in the past. She said that one of her friends went into a chat room once, and that she was approached by a pervert. She then proclaimed proudly that she had never spoken to a pedophile over the internet. I couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony.

The second conversation was along the same vein. I was signing up to volunteer as a youth mentor. I will be mentoring a young boy. Unfortunately our society is a little too suspicious to allow adult men to mentor young girls, at least in my town. In any case, the Mentor Coordinator and I were talking about the background check that they are running on me (it will come back perfectly clean) and she apologized for the inconvenience. She said that it was alarming, the lengths through which pedophiles would go to take advantage of children. She also tried to assuage any discomfort by assuring me that she knew that I wasn’t like that, and that it was only procedure. This wasn’t quite so amusing to me as the first situation because I am not a BLer, so she wasn’t directly referring to me, but it was still pretty funny.

Well, that’s it for now. Glad to be back.

†Mods, I am comfortable disclosing this.
