I believe it's very possible for someone to be a hebephile for different reasons. You don't have to be fascinated with youth in order to have a preferential attraction to them; some of us do, some of us do not. I perceive you as being every bit as "real" a hebephile as I am, even if our attraction bases result from different reasons.

I personally do not see myself as having more experience than a teen girl just because I am older...I have learned MANY things from teen girls that I have been platonic friends with online, and I often go to them for advice. I think whether one has more experience over another depends upon the particular subject you are discussing, rather than life in general. However, it should be noted that there are some AAM's who are attracted to adult men based upon the thought of loving someone with greater experience, whereas others probably prefer men who are a teen on the inside. It's all a matter of preference.

Some hebephiles will be enthralled by the Adult Male/Teen Girl romantic dynamic, whereas others will feel a close bond with youths from a social level, and thus relate to them very well as a result. Hebephilia is different in many ways from pedophilia, as it's more a sociological phenomenon than a purely psychological state of being, and every hebephile may have a different psychological reason for being attracted to teen girls. These psychological conditions are totally natural, they are not "diseases" in any way, shape, or form. I honestly believe that hebephilia deserves to be studied and understood by sociologists and psychologists the same as pedophilia does, and that society could likely benefit by making its peace with us.

But to answer your question...yes, there may be sub-categories of hebephiles, but I see you as no "less" of a hebephile than I am just because our reasons for having this attraction are different.
