The aim of the film doesn't seem to be to dispel any misconceptions about pedophiles or pedophilia, but to use an 'uncomfortable' subject for laughs. I wouldn't expect much from the guy who wrote the line in Superbad about a character's fake ID picture making him resemble a 'future pedophile'.
