Actually, one of the first things I did after reading the article was to google earth exactly the location the reporter gave me and yes, Street View tells me that there are tumbleweeds there!!!

Otoh, it's a damn open area - hardly where anyone could predate on the child without being spotted... duuuuh!!!!
