Seriously, it's not really a thing you 'handle', desires are thoughts. They're a part of you, in you, you have control of them. People whose desires control them let them, they don't 'get away' or anything, moreso they just use that as an excuse to relinquish control and act irresponsibly.

I'm kinda confused by your 'will have to' thing, since pretty much if you love someone you'd expect them to enjoy platonic time regardless of whether or not they can do more. Platonic love, in its traditional term, is more loving than sex is, IMO, it really shows a concern over other factors.
