I'm astonished to hear this too. She's so SHORT and juvenile looking for her age. Even TEN is well pushing it, given that 10 yos are meant to be approximately at least chin to eye height of their full adult height according to a height chart in a book I'd read a while back. I wouldn't have been surprised if someone said she was 6. But I would interpret her age off the cuff as being about 7, or a quite small 8 or 9 max.

As Dante pointed out, Hollywood does tend to select very tardy grown minor aged actors. And often to emphasize their contrast to "adults" they select exceptionally sturdy built and TALL adults to act alongside them to achieve optimum effect. It is not uncommon to see movies with extremely tardy minors alongside "parents" who are 6 foot 6. The minors selected either have health problems or they are selected from very small pixie races, while the "adults" they select are of a completely extraneous race altogether to the minor-- often descended from Western barbarian tribes which are of typically robust build. It's a regular formula employed by Hollywood and it's something that is patently OBVIOUS to any reasonably perceptive viewer. Precisely why all this is done, I'm not entirely sure. But I have long suspected it is to reinforce society's extended juvenilization of youth and ageist culture, creating as wide division as possible between "adult" and "child". Fantasy world.
