People are notorious for being lax when it comes to fighting for change, and always hoping that someone else comes along and does it for them. Too many people are willing to just sit back and obey silly and destructive laws rather than invoking the country's penchant for civil disobedience and demanding change. The thing is, too many people are against youth freedom today, and as a result of this, people think that the powers that be are too powerful to challenge. This is the basis of a recent debate I had on VoA...some MAA's were arguing that because the current power structure is so powerful we have no choice but to work with and try to gain its sympathy rather than oppose it. I think the majority of people out there think the state is too powerful to challenge, so they simply resign themselves to following the law rather than doing anything to change it.
