I do support some degree of control over utterly rampant and unfettered capitalism. Having said that, I don't like the degree of crab-bucket socialism that would punish someone who has done well for themselves out of a successful business and has managed to save away a little nest egg of 2 or 3 million and wants to retire early to live off that money as a "capitalist". But I do agree that something is wrong when capitalists become SUPER rich billionaires and don't even know what to do with 99.99 % of their wealth while someone else is groveling in the street for a piece of bread, not to mention the degree of political manipulation and cronyism that goes on because of the actions of many of these people. But at the end of the day, no system actually WORKS, both socialism AND capitalism--the main reason being CORRUPTION, something that is impossible to rid. Unfettered capitalism tends to lead to wars, and socialism because it is so convoluted with bureaucracies tends to lead to all kinds of iniquities and endless corruption.

My main use of the word "collectivists" and "socialists" in this thread (and probably most of the time) was more to do with the anti-individualist collective "social engineers" enforcing their values and laws down everyone's throats and violating their civil liberties. I was primarily meaning it in that way rather than in the sense of economics.
