Fascinating to read those extracts from Kilvert's diaries. His fondness for little girls didn't seem to attract the irrational hatred that pertains nowadays. In fact, if the diaries reflect the facts, many of his little girl friends were only too pleased to respond to his attentions, and usually with no disapproval from their parents. I think I would have been so much happier living in Victorian times !!
