Girl moment or 'dangerous stranger' moment?

The other day, on the job, I had an experiance. Now, my job entails that I (accompanied by my boss/family friend) travel to homes in our surrounding counties to mark out survey lines for cable installers. We had a survey in a condo development. I finished the quick lines and sat back in the car as my boss drew up her map of the area. I just so happened to be looking at the upstairs window of the neighboring apartment and I saw what intrigued me. A small brunette girl, about 7 or 8, wraped her arms around the curtains and pushed them aside. Our eyes met at that distance and she seemed startled, but she didn't look away. I couldn't help but smile, but her face stayed the same. She backed away and disapeared into her home. As we were pulling out of our parking spot she returned to the window. I watched her as she lowered the blinds, but she kept enough of them open so she could watch as I left. I smiled again at her and from what it looked like she smiled nervously back.

Now, I don't know whether it entertained her or simply scared the daylights from her. Maybe she was just curious. I had mixed feelings about it all that day. It's the closest thing I've had to a girl moment in a long while.
