HAI GAIZ!! :)

Daneel, over on boychat ⚠️ ↗, posted a hundred-pushup challenge based on the site...

http://www.hundredpushups.com/ ⚠️ ↗

Not only did it take off like wildfire, but - being the idiot that I am - I thought that it'd be really cool if we spread it to the various boards and all did this, or at least all of us on any board that's willing to join the movement!

Don't believe me? Want to read the original message without having to click the link at the top? Well... here it is, tastefully edited...

Hey fellow girlchatters,

Today I've decided today to embark on the 100 Pushups Program, something I've been wanting to do for a while now. See http://www.hundredpushups.com/ for the complete six week program.

So. This is your lucky day; you could join me! It's about as easy as it can be... you do as many pushups as you can for an initial test, and then that tells you which column of which week to start working on. It lays out exactly how many sets of how many pushups to do, three days per week, for the duration of the program (nominally six weeks), and readjusts for you every week based on your progress. What could be easier?

I'm also doing crunches, myself, and am going to follow exactly the same program (but by some multiple... e.g. if you can do ten times as many crunches as pushups, then just multiply the pushups program by ten for the crunches). Hopefully that will workout alright. And I'm also starting some aerobic exercise, and still doing my back exercises and stretches, but you can do whatever you like. :-P

I can hear the odd person grumbling, "Off topic!" But what girl wouldn't be proud of their man being able to do 100 pushups, and perhaps 1000 crunches? And what a great example to set for him. And what BLs' lives wouldn't be improved by doing this fitness program? (And enjoying all of the other benefits... mental, emotional, etc... that go along with it.) Seriously, we can use all the help we can get, as girllovers in this world which tries to drag us down.

Myself, I had a good fitness program going up until the start of the summer, when I had some health issues which included my having extremely low energy levels, so I've been pretty slack for several months. I want to get back into a fitness routine, though. And actually, I need to. Gave myself a scare a little while ago when I seriously threw my back out, and I'm sure it was at least partly because I wasn't taking care of myself.

So c'mon, who's with me? I could use some company. :-) Helps with motivation. And since BC is the only web forum I post on, well, you're stuck with me. heh (Posting my plans here also helps keep me/us honest, since I/we will be reporting three times a week.) Which brings up the other thing, I'm going to be posting my results three times a week (or if it gets to be a bit much, maybe make it a weekly summary, since the index is moving pretty slowly these days). Anyone who is joining me on this program can post their results in the same thread. And even if a person wants to extend to 7 weeks, they'll still finish before US Thanksgiving at the end of November.

Quickly read up on the program at the link I gave. Then do the quick initial test, and join up below by posting your results. We'll rest up a couple of days before starting start week 1 day 1 on Wednesday. Anonymous posters are more than welcome, too. :-) And it doesn't even matter if you can't do full pushups... just do ladies' pushups, i.e. from the knees up, and nobody even needs to know. (Hell, for all you know, that's what I'm doing. heh)

So, my results for the initial test:
25 pushups, 250 crunches.
Post you initial test results below in this thread.

Planning to do 100 pushups and 1000 crunches on Nov. 17th, and hoping for some company,
Daneel

PS - A quick note about crunches. If you're going to do those too, make sure you're working your deep abs by sucking in your belly button towards your spine, like they tell you to do in Pilates. You can tell if you're doing it right by laying on your back on the floor, place your fingertip on the front corner of your hip bone, slide it an inch or so down the 'V', and then you'll feel the muscle there under your fingertip tighten when you suck in your belly button. That's how you know you're activating your deep abs. And btw, you don't need to do it super hard, just activate the muscle to about 30% or so. (This note is just repeating what my excellent chiropractor shared with me.)
