It's subjective anyway what a 13 yo is "universally meant to look like"--people simply look of different degrees of perceived age according to their race and somatotype, as well as other factors as well (which also brings me back to that whole issue of neoteny that had been talked about here a while ago). People too often forget that 13 is a young adult anyway, and I remember in my time having guys in our class standing 6 foot 6 and utterly DWARFING the teacher. As for the young women, they were fully developed at that age and I met them again 7 years later at a school reunion when I as 20, and they hadn't developed any further... the only thing that had changed was that they were a bit more deteriorated in the face, and a few had become perhaps a little over weight. Being "petite" is NOT age specific. I don't know why some people seem to think that someone has to be automatically "petite" just because they have a certain degree of youth. I've seen more large 5 yos in my time than I care to count. The fact of it all is that there are petite adults and petite children, and there are also well built mesomorphic adults AND children. I don't think that I notice 13 yos these days to look any older than they used to in my day, 30 odd years back. In fact, some of them are getting smaller (largely due to increasing Asian immigration).
