this is why i tell people its worth finding and confiding with a counselor who won't judge their orientation.

see, you need to talk to someone. you're involving yr daughter WAY too much in yr personal dilemmas, and forcing her to make decisions about her loyalties that she shouldn't have to. of course she'll feel protective of her relationship w/ her dad, but nobody has an infinite capacity for forgiveness, and it'll be both of you that get hurt when it runs out.

i think you need to talk to somebody, not least becos it'll make you happier. i can't offer any advice about finding somebody who won't judge you for your orientation, esp in that fascist country you live in, but if you give that problem in itself some serious thought and maybe do something about it, then you'll be doing a good thing for every maa and you'll feel less trapped by your situation.

getting in emotional turmoil and drinking too much is just the way to get into serious trouble with feelings like ours and, for that reason, its WAY more risky than sharing your personal feelings with an appropriate therapist. you don't have to go overboard, just look around for people who might be able to help, that won't be judgemental and who don't charge an arm and a leg. mention as much and no more than you feel comfortable talking about.
