Its true that it's difficult to meet LGs because of the 'red flag' issue. However, if she passes your house often, just arrange to be in front of your house (yard work, smoke break, whatever) at the times she might be more likely to pass. Wave and/or smile as she passes by to put yourself on her radar. As time passes you may find the opportunity to speak to her, and once you break the ice that first time, you'll find it's easier to talk to her next time. Play your cards right, and you may find her striking up conversations with you.

But Mes raises a good point, also. Getting to know the parents, at least on an aquaintance basis, might help relieve any 'suspicion' they may have about you.
