I've fallen on hard-times as well. My girl-friends mother has told me not to visit for a while, I know I haven't gotten into serious trouble or had my intentions exposed. What happened is that Mom and Dad started fighting over the simple fact that my girlfriend would naturally get a little excited when I would stop by. Her father is an alcoholic control freak -A person who demands control over others while having little control over themselves, how amusing.- and he and her mother started fighting over this, much as you they fought over the family dog before giving it away . . . The same thing has happened, in that no one wanted anything to do with the animal after a little while: As it became associated with the pain and trauma of having to deal with hearing Mom and Dad scream at each other every evening.
While this hurts, it's made me realize that I am addicted to feelings of righteous indignation and that as a result, I've allowed myself to be put in such a situation. More important than your pain is what your pain is trying to tell you. I'd recommend that you get in touch with whatever that might be, meditation and other spiritual practices will help with that. Do not be afraid, no one person can ever be un-lovable, or unworthy of Love when they ask and begin to become conscious.
