Seems like he's trying to appeal to what he assumes they will accept as obvious truth: he felt the need for the sexiest imagery he could find, and naturally that was of young girls. You could say it's quite a gutsy line of defence to take....

"The reason I did this is because seeing the young girls excited me and allowed me to perform sex with my wife"

Well, brutally honest... though it's his wife, poor old dear, who's probably going to need a 'pick-me-up' after reading that very public admission...yikes :-/
