I also didn't see the creepy there...

It might be deceptive, but I don't see the lie to be that big, really. And, like you said, that makes sure you get to know the parents first. And finally, well, it might and might not work - pretty much like any other suggestion given; the point is that I would think of anything as creepier the more "sure" it is.

So I think Lucky and kea are overreacting a little bit...
