I'll say it again, it pays for a GLer to be a foreign-film buff. Many of the best girl-centric films weren't made in Hollywood. And if you're cutting yourself off from Nina Kervel, Ana Torrent, Judith Vittet or Ivana Baquero because you're allergic to subtitles; well, too bad.

Its been a long time since I saw Alice in the Cities. I was perhaps too young for its artsy meandering.

I prefer Wings of Desire and Until the End of the World myself; even if they are OT for GLers.
