You're talking about punitive methods of manipulation (punishing undesired noncompliant behavior) and I'm talking about convincing an undecided person to try something that they enjoy or have never tried before. In the case the child were looking for a monogamous sexual relationship, the smooth-talker would try to convince the child that they possessed qualities desirable for such a relationship.

It's the difference between "this is your 2nd grade homeroom teacher" and "I know I just adopted you, but please accept me as your real father."

You can't beat valid consent out of a child.
