The funny thing is, they were already doing the evesdropping long before they found that giant mainframe at AT&T in San Francisco. And who would be shocked to discover they were still doing it now? Would anyone?

Obama became part of the Evil Empire (for me) the day he went along and signed that FISA bill, the one that gave retroactive immunity to all the mega communication companies who voluntarily committed some of the highest possible felonies for Dubya.. spying on all American citizens inside the USA. Both he and the CEO's, in a non-corrupt country functioning according to its own laws, would be on trial and heading to prison or worse. No wonder junior is throwing money our way and no wonder these companies try to censor us. Crooks. All of them.
