Wow..... big topic. There used to be a website out there that explained it all. In a nutshell, horses are the first expressions of sexual yearnings in girls around 10-12, because they are socially acceptable outlets for desire. They are big and powerful and muscular, and there's a similarity to intercourse when bouncing up and down as you ride. It's pretty fascinating actually, although you don't hear about it much from popular sources since it's so "uncomfortable" and taboo a subject.
