Posting problems

I have had a long standing problem getting preview or post to work at GC under certain circumstances. Specifically, when I copy and paste text from MS Word or from another website in to GC's message box, sometimes the preview and/or post buttons just time-out. This happened to me last night. No mention of bad HTML, no mention of banned text, just no response at all. If I simply type something into the message box, everything works fine. So this was not a site-wide problem with GC, or a problem with just my nic, it was a problem with the text I was pasting, which was about 1-1/3 of a page worth from MS Word.

Anyone have any idea why, or experience the same? I have wondered if it is strange line breaks or carriage returns, or hidden characters, or non-displaying characters in the text that are somehow messing things up. I am baffled.
