I do remember that news too. And I actually DO agree with him that it is genetic. BUT from what I heard, it was thought that by the very manner he had made the statement, he was calling for a kind of excuse to vet toddlers by early intervention to see if they had the gene, resulting in perhaps "treatment" or sterilization of such individuals so that the gene could be "weeded out", or even worse, EXTERMINATION if need be--hence why his statements were considered very "dangerous". It has been said by many that his remark was not to try and create a parallel with homosexuals that their proclivity too is "just genetic" and therefore should simply be accepted by society as a valid sexuality.
