Burnt by the Sun is a superb movie, even aside from the little girl, who is breathtakingly beautiful.

But if I am not mistaken, it is the girl and her father, not grandfather. Further, the director starred in the film as the main character, Col. Kotov, and his daughter on screen is actually his real-life daughter.
