The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe movies, kid oriented and very engaging plot. I also like The Lion King series, the Harry Potter series, and Back to the Future series, all good movies with interesting plots, and definitely kid oriented.

As far as games in your age group, Monopoly is always a winner, Uno card game, Dominoes are fun, Sorry!, Yahtzee, and of course, the intellectuals will enjoy Scrabble, Parcheesi, and perhaps the card game Gin (I also like black jack as well, but I never bet unless I use Pringles, or candy, which is a good way to teach a kid a lesson about gambling!)
