I'm always wary of "people" I only know through correspondence.

There are many "people" here at GC who I like. But do I really know them?

Investing too much emotional time on building relationships with pixels seems like emotional energy ill-spent.

Be careful. You've repeatedly evinced as much fascination with slang ( particularly AG slang ) as an unfamiliarity with its current usage outside of the media and online "people."

Heck, when I was in Middle-school every 13 year old boy tried to sound like members of Monty Python by committing their sketches and vocabulary to memory. But of course they only had to sound plausible to those who had never heard British usage.

Further, in RL different sides of people are brought out by others. In correspondence you may hear about others in their life, but you never see the "people" they become.

When Beatrice is spending time with me, I see "that" Beatrice. But I have spent time around her son, and I've been with her when a phone call from her parents comes through. I've seen her as a mother, as a daughter, as an employee. These help supplement my knowledge of the face she shows Dante.

Online there are no opportunities to see any other face than that which "she" chooses for you to see.

Of course if she is being real; you could point out that Pedophiles are the canary in the coal-mine for intolerance. What is being tested out on Peds and "suspected terrorists" will soon be practiced on the other targeted minorities. And she should get her priorities in order before they come for her.
