It happens.

Sometimes, I suspect that Humanity at large is in fact incapable of genuine and all-encompassing compassion; those that claim to do so are simply neglecting to mention groups that they despise with alarming fanaticism.
I know a nice older woman who is a spiritual guru as well as a lesbian, with her open-minded nature and awareness I was seriously considering telling her that I Love little girls. That was until when I was talking with her over the phone one night and she started making the same sweeping generalizations that I've heard all to many times before, I guess that since we form decisions based on observation: It doesn't occur to most people to look past what they are told and consider the fact that you would not learn of incidences of positive sexual contact between adults and minors for reasons that should be self-evident. She also made a living as a nurse before retiring and becoming a guru, so it's doubly likely that she would not have heard any alternative views on this subject.
Of course, the hardest part is trying to decide if and how far you should stick your neck out when you hear someone make such statements.
I wish my friend could see what I'm like around little girls, I can't imagine how she wouldn't pick up on how my heart opens up and pours forth positive energy when I interact with them.
