The kids vote on Nickeloden

During the past week, in honor of the quickly approaching Election Day, Nickelodeon had a special poll on their website where they allowed the kids under 18 who view the channel and its website to vote for the president. The majority of the kids voted for Obama. This is more evidence that kids should be allowed to vote, and that the intelligence and political acumen of kids should be taken much more seriously. It also makes it clear that kids are more likely to vote for change than adults (Obama won the popular vote, but it was still close enough that I am disappointed in the adults of America). We should all be proud of the kids, many of whom obviously aren't afraid to vote for change and tend to be more liberal-minded than many adults (before someone complains, yes I am well aware that there was a sizable number of kids who campaigned for McCain). This lends further support to the program of youth liberation to give kids the vote (their number one priority, currently), and those on the anti side (both inside and outside of this community) should be particularly ashamed of themselves for ignoring the youth liberation movement. The evidence suggests that kids are capable of making intelligent decisions.

Some people will say that the kids' parents guided them in making their choice for Obama, but that is no different than dismissing women's votes by claiming that they were all influenced by their husbands. None of those parents knew who their kids were going to vote for, and I'm sure that few adults took the Nickelodeon voting poll seriously enough to stand over their kids' shoulders while they voted online.
