My basic theory is that our AoA is based on an average of the ages of people we had a romantic interest in during our childhood. It might've just been a crush that never led to a relationship, or it might've been mutual. Basically, if you remove the age of your mother from the equation, then you end up with an approximate 9-12 range instead of a 15-18 range. The unanswered question is what exactly is required for someone to be factored into the equation, and I wonder if, in the mother's case, it's their affection towards you. By affection I mean gentle touching, hugging etc.

In terms of memory, it should be easy. Was your mother only affectionate when greeting/parting, or was she spontaneously affectionate?
