Calculus rocks! Yes it is difficult, but it is fascinating to realize what you can do with calculus. Once when in the service, suffering from deep boredom (no booze to drink or books to read) I derived using Cartesian coordinates (x,y,z) the equation for the volume of a sphere (4/3 pi r^3) just to pass the time while doing something with my brain.

On another note, I totally sympathize with you on these stupid fighting and reality shows. To our government, violence rules and besides, it helps to keep the prisons full, but words and images are dangerous, because they might cause people to think and question authority.
