Does that really count as being 'sexually aware'? Every infant explores their bodies, including their genitals. That can be called 'masturbation'. Most (I suspect) infants stop doing that, forget about it, then start again sometime during puberty. I have vague memories from when I was 4 or so, of my parents telling me not to touch myself. And I didn't start masturbating again until I was 14. Oh and my AoA is mostly 9-12, although often find girls 7-14 very attractive.

I've heard many pedophiles say that they were unusually early or unusually late bloomers, in some way or another, so I doubt it's correlated the way you're thinking. It's possible that deviance from the normal leads to further deviance in other aspects of one's sexuality, but that's beyond the scope of what you're asking.
