Hi Dissident, I have already given some of my ideas in the other thread regarding your Aus friend so I'll keep it short as I can here.

Perhaps you could just say that you have a close friend (or maybe friendS) who are paedophiles and that you see nothing in their natures to suggest anything even CLOSE to what the media makes them out to be. As I said in that previous similar thread, maybe it's best to talk of OTHER MAA's first (rather than yourself as a hebephile) if you want to remain on safer ground with them to begin with. Test the waters first, get their opinions and reactions on things, then take it from there...the way they feel about things will give you some kind of indication how much you'd like to out yourself, but of course if they react with significant hostility towards any idea involving MAA to MAA attracted minor relationships then you're probably not going to want to out yourself in any way-- that is, if you are intent on remaining their friend. And as I said earlier, you could also mention that you know people who have actually been in consensual relationships with paedophiles when they themselves were children. In the current climate, it always makes it look a LOT better coming from that viewpoint of an MAA attracted minor rather than an MAA; this always helps to add a different perspective on things...(well that's the way I feel about it anyway). And the good thing too is that you would NOT even be lying about it, because you DO of course know all these categories of people:)

"I worry about how she will react to the news that I'm a hebephile (a 9 year old isn't in my AoA, but she will be in a few short years)."

It should be remembered that it is not all that uncommon to encounter 9 yos that have reached puberty (and so this age would therefore often fall into many hebephiles' AoA), and I do recall you yourself saying on several occasions that there have been plenty of instances where you have found different 10 yos attractive (just as long as they look 10 rather than 5 or 6).
