Haha. I like your answer.

For me, it depends who it is. I get asked if I'm a pedophile more often than I'd like and it's always by people who I'd rather not be talking to. It's mainly strangers mis-interpreting the name of my favorite band which I have painted on the back of my leather jacket. (NOTE:It's purely coinsidence that I'm an MAA and the name of my favorite band could be mis-interpreted as marking myself as such. Would it be safe to tell the name or would that make me easier to identify?) My answer is always "No, it's a band name." Now, it's a name that is sure to raise an eyebrow or two, but if someone was a pedophile I seriously don't think that they'd be advertising it on a jacket. Especially because I have dozens of other buttons and patches with bands on them all over the same jacket. It's not even vulgar or anything. I think people just need something or someone to take their pedo hating rage out on so they'll jump at anything that they think is even remotely related. Once, a guy actually stood and yelled at me while I was making a donation to the Salvation Army.

Now, the only people I really want to know of attraction to young girls already know and I'm sure that my acquaintances who don't aren't dumb enough to assume what John Q. Public does. So I guess I'll just keep up what I've been doing. My jacket is the only thing people have to assume such a thing, which isn't one bit valid. That and I don't have to tell some angry stranger one bit of information about myself, especially something like being a pedophile, more especially if it was an assumption made for a very crass reason.
