Police: No evidence of murder on British island

You may recall this case from earlier this year. Police were investigating an old children's home on the island of Jersey where bone fragments were found and claims of historic sex abuse and murder were made. Fingers were pointed and the press had a field day posting horriffic stories about it.

It has now been revealed that the bones were many hundreds of years old, some were animal and some weren't even bones at all. As a result, there is no evidence there to back all these claims of abuse.

The question remains, were these claims real? or yet another case of paranoia? It would seem many people involved jumped to conclusions rather quickly on this well before the evidence was analysed.
